When I was a small child I experienced the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. My paintings reflect this aesthetic. I am very much influenced by the paintings of Morris Graves and others from the Northwest school of art. I graduated from Western Washington State College in Bellingham Washington with a double major of Art and English in 1972. My major emphasis was Lithography. Since then I have pursued mostly water color painting, although I have worked in oil, acrylic and some sculpture. I am currently retired from the Dex yellow pages sales organization after 30 plus years in outside sales as a consultant, and manager. I always painted while I worked. I consider myself a realist impressionist and I love painting landscapes. Many of my paintings reflect the images from my travels to the Oregon coast and Hawaii. I often paint the monoliths of Canon Beach (Haystack Rock) and Pacific City (near Tillamook). Since my retirement I have been in numerous local art exhibits. I currently show at Parklane Fine Art Gallery in Kirkland Washington.
My work reflects my varied interests from the grand outdoors of our region to the many places that I have visited.
